COMPANY PROFILE

CJ Construction & Training Pty Ltd is a company owned by Chris Johnson, a Yandruwandha man with strong ties to the Strzelecki region and decades of experience working gas and oil pipelines.
Our mission is to provide a strong commitment to supporting local traditional owners to develop confidence, pride, and a strong work ethic through offering relevant training qualifications and an opportunity for ongoing employment.
C J Construction and Training brings the opportunity for Traditional Owners to gain valued skills, qualifications, tickets, licences, and diplomas in a supportive and culturally appropriate learning space. The same training and upskilling are also available for both indigenous and nonindigenous employees of companies working in the area.
As our training also includes caring for Country, we can support employers to meet a variety of needs as their work place moves towards designing and implementing their reconciliation strategy.
Although the company has only recently been launched, the team involved draw on decades of experience on some of the largest pipeline projects in Australia.

VISION & MISSION

We are Traditional Custodians committed to the sustainable development of indigenous communities through a focus on training and employment.

We are actively leveraging our decades of experience and expertise to provide lifelong opportunities for the next generation. We engage directly with Aboriginal groups to encourage participation, training, and upskilling.

OUR COMMITMENT TO & ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

We aim for a minimum of 20% Aboriginal participation in all projects. To achieve this, we will actively engage with the Aboriginal communities located near projects.
We provide mentoring, role modelling, tailored training, and a commitment to support a career path for each of our team members.
We customise the work in culturally sensitive ways to enhance participation. We build self-esteem, confidence, and commitment through direct and sensitive engagement.
